Overview:

iPage are in no way new to the web hosting industry, they've been around for more than 5 years and have only just made their way into the top 10. iPage's pricing plan starts at $5.25 per month and with that you will receive a user-friendly interface filled with free website templates, site builders and a large library of scripts.

Customer Service:

iPage offer support by toll-free phone, email & live chat support 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Live-chat support is more basic and seems targeted towards pre-sales issues whereas the more technical queries are more appropriate on the phone or by email. iPage recently expanded their help center which provides user friendly guides and video tutorials on a wide range of subjects.

Control Panel:

iPage do not use cPanel, instead they use something called H-Sphere which is a more basic control panel used by a small majority of hosts. H-Sphere is good enough to build a website but it can be hard to use, more so if you are new to web hosting or you have already had experience with cPanel and vDeck. There is another issue it seems only fair we mention, if you are moving away from iPage you may have a surprise trying to transfer your site over to a new web hosting provider. The difference in control panels may cause complications so you should choose your desired control carefully before deciding on your favorite web hosting choice.

Reliability:

iPage take uptime very seriously and have a number of systems in place to supposedly kept it to a minimal. Although there is no uptime guarantee, iPage do say they will monitor your website 24 hours a day, 7 days per week using their advanced in-house sever monitoring solution which will notify tech staff as soon as your website go down. iPage have not cut any corners with their data center either, iPage use the latest low emission servers to ensure a clean but reliable service.

Summary:

iPage offer a generous package aimed towards the more basic user, more experienced users may struggle with the H-Sphere control panel interface especially if you have been using cPanel for years like most webmasters will have these days. Asides from this, the tools and services offered inside the control panel are benefitial and will quite easily do the job that they are intended for. Building web pages with their website builder is a simple point and click process plus iPage also offer a massive library of scripts for more complicated websites like web blogs and photo galleries.

Transferring -- Not to the Web Host

I have an existing web page and not one person could be honest about not being able to transfer my web sites. they did help me with ftp, but that did nothing, so now I have garbage to drop and drag. And if I want a better design program, that's an additional $10 a month. And if you want even more or a different format that's even more.

I think it is false advertising at very least not upfront advertising. Just makes wonder about the web hosting sites and what they haven't told you.

I have been with ipage for a month now and i have had no concerns with them what so ever. I had been searching for a web hosting for a while now. I always came across ipage and never read any bad reviews so i decided to go ahead and sign up with them. I am really happy i did and became part of their team.

I am happy with iPage, Tech support is a bit slow. The control panel is easy to use despite warnings everywhere that it is not cPanel, this doesn't appear to be a problem.

So far I have been very happy with FatCow. I was recently with HostMonster and was slowly finding out that they are not the best around. They had some issues. FatCow is so easy to use. Great control panel, nice tech support, great web site nicely built. Unlimited everything for the price.
